Probably the best cure you can find for the moment.

While the world awaits anxiously for the vaccine against the highly contagious virus, there are things which cannot wait. From the Feng Shui perspective, things is going to get worse and it is not the time to 'wait for fate' as some would put it.

As seen in my previous articles, there are two specific sectors within the space that you occupy most, largely your home since most of us work from home anyway. These are the East part which harbours the Misfortune Star in the Year of the Metal Rat. More critically, the South sector of the home comes with the Illness Star.

Both of these two most negative stars are classified as the Earth element. Since Fire supports the element Earth, these two sectors must be free of fire. To digest Earth, the element Metal is often recommended. Unfortunately, most masters and consultants leave it just as that.

For many, the thought of using Metal leans towards some fanciful metallic ornaments in the shape of 'protection emblems'. This is not wrong as long as they are of full metal in make and heavy enough corresponding to a space. However, it has been found that many metallic coated and painted materials have been substituted for such use that make them absolutely ineffective. The other resistance is that not everyone is in favour of placing ornaments at home.

So, first thing first. Identify the East and South sectors of your home. You can do this by using our 24 Mountains compass tool under the 'Resources' tab on our website. Once identified, the following should be observed.

1. Clean up the East and South sectors of your home

2. Remove anything that is in constant movement there, example standing fans and aquariums

3. Remove anything that burns there, example, candles and incense

4. Remove anything that creates loud and consistent sounds, example radio and computers

5. Do not renovate in these two sectors in 2020

6. Do not shift things around, drill or hammer in these two sectors this year

Regardless of whether this is a bedroom, living room, entrance or the yard, the right thing to do from a Feng Shui angle is to weaken the Earth energies with heavy metal.

Introduced and proven effective over the past 15 years of my practice, I strongly recommend all to place a pair of all-metal exercise weights weighing up to 5kg in each sector. You can have it is a single piece or as a pair as long as it totals 5kg (recommended for homes up to 1,500 sq feet). Please note that the colourful plastic versions are filled with sand and do not do the job.

Feng Shui Necessities when You Work from Home.

With the current stay home notices, absence of leave, lockdowns and quarantines in place, there is a need to organise and maximise the time and space entrusted to us so that we can be productive, effective and manage our resources well.

There are different levels of people who are working out of the office. You may be taking absence of leave from your employers or self-employed in your own trade. Of course, I empatise with people who may have been displaced or retrenched due to the sudden and swift downturn. Whether you are a business person, a self employed agent, an employee or anything in between, it is time to make your home work for you.

Whatever situation you are in, take this as an opportunity to do something to your home and especially your personal workspace.

While not everyone may have the luxury of space to create a dedicated study, it should not stop you from creating a work station, one as simple as a foldable table and collapsible chair at its bare minimum. Done right, this is going to be your break that you have been waiting for.

First, look around your home and identify workable areas. It may be a spare room, breakfast or dining table, a corner near the kitchen or a space in the balcony. Preferably, this is one location that is clean, bright and uncluttered. See a window, walkway or balcony there ? Great ! Look outside. If there's a bright opening, unblocked space and not too busy or noisy, it can be qualified.

Next, which location within the home is best for you ? For this, look back at my article 'Reading your BaZi in a Minute' in which you will see what your Personal Palace is. This is reflected in your Life Star of your personal BaZi chart.

From personal experiences and consultations with clients, the very basic Feng Shui you should have is to protect this very personal space of yours. For example, if your Life Star is 4, your Personal Palace to watch out for is the Southeast sector within your home. How do you know where the Southeast is ? Get the compass tool in your mobile phone, stand in the cnetre of your home. Regardless where you face, main entrance or balcony, front or back alike, the Southeast sector will be reflected in the compass. This shall be the sector where it is best for you to have a clean and bright space to locate your area of productive work.

What if this sector is not useable ? Like it falls into the kitchen, toilets or store ?

Then, go for the alternative. Up to the end of the year 2020, the other sectors to consider positioning your work desk will be the West, Northwest, Northeast and the Southeast. Because the matching energies there correspond with the Indirect Wealth, Direct Wealth, Noblemen and the Commanding energies, respectively, of this year for you to tap on.

It is not time for you to wonder into the unknown but to be responsible for the future of you and your family. 30th March would be a perfect daye for the move, best timed at 8am. Make the change and create your own opportunities.

When the Water under the Metal turns violent.

In the follow up of my last post when I mentioned that the period between 5th March and 3rd April shall bring the best and worst (mainly) of current conditions.

The Metal Rat year has turned the water into a violent gush, dealing the world a catratrophic health crisis, panic buying, stockpiling, disrupting lives, isolating communities, roiling stock markets, displacing jobs, grounding planes and putting everyone on an uncertain path never before seen.

As we are only days away from the end of the first quarter of the year, there is much to be concerned about what is to come for the rest of the next nine months.

What led us here and did anyone, including the best of Feng Shui masters see this coming ?

To be fair, some had warned of some viral epidemic the year before, in 2019 when it was still the Year of the Earth Pig. And yes, there were some of us who kept repeating that the Year of the Metal Rat is really unkind to the world economies.

What took all by surprise was the speed of it all, how it spread and the subsequent impact it dealt on world economies that grinds this to what we are all seeing and experiencing today.

While we all try and make sense of what had happened, the more important thing to do is to understand what is to come.

This in itself could be seen evidently in the presence of the Yang Metal in the Year of the Metal Rat. Being seen in the Heavenly Stem, this Yang Metal will exhibit all the qualities associated with it and shall bring about the propensity of the actions to be undertaken when push comes to shove.

How long will it last ? I mentioned during my webinar session for AXA Singapore in January this year that the conditions may stabalise but we are not seeing the end of this pandamic this year.

Yang Metal is the epitome of 'big Metal' - hard, unyielding, commanding, decisive and mostly active. It can be envisioned as authoritative, controlling and of leadership. Governments and central governing representatives such as centrals banks will need to play a part in underwriting some economic numbers.

On account of what took place during the last years of the Rat, the consistency is there for us to see and perhaps the good news is that recoveries were swift and steep.

1972 - Worldwide oil crisis started in 1973.

If history repeats itself, the Year of the Ox in 2021 is not looking pretty. Things will get rather bad before it gets well.
